This project is aimed at assisting the Government improve the performance of the public enterprise and the (private) corporate sector through development of best practice in corporate governance. The activities of the TA include:
(i) review of the corporate governance systems and practices in public enterprises, including the state-owned National Savings Bank, and listed companies;
(ii) development of a code of best practice in corporate governance which is to be adopted and made mandatory for all commercial public enterprises and all state-owned or controlled financial institutions (including commercial and development banks);
(iii) recommendations on the strengthening of the role and institutional capacity of the Government in its ownership and governance functions of public enterprises; and
(iv) recommendations on corporate governance development in listed companies. Development of a code of best practice in corporate governance which is to be adopted and made mandatory for all commercial public enterprises and all state-owned or controlled financial institutions (including commercial and development banks). |
